Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry offers volunteer opportunities in Jackson County to support the community.
The food pantry’s volunteer opportunities in Jackson County involve three to five volunteers staffing the pantry each Monday and Thursday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Volunteers will:
- Hand out prepared boxes of groceries to families requesting food
- Pack and organize donations
- Assist with our food drives in July and October and our other yearly events
- And more
Every other Friday morning, the freezers, cooler, and shelves are stocked with cases of groceries received from MANNA FoodBank or purchased from Ingles grocery store. Boxes are packed with grocery items and placed on shelves to be distributed on Mondays and Thursdays.

Fishes Loaves Food Pantry distributes free food to individuals and families in Jackson County, the surrounding areas in Western North Carolina, and beyond.
Visit our food pantry to receive 1-2 boxes of non-perishable food items, meat, bread, fresh produce, and fruit when available Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
