Empty Bowls
The Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry Empty Bowls in Jackson County food drive is held every October at the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry. The event features hand-turned pottery created by volunteers at The Bascom in Highlands, NC. We serve individuals and families in all areas of Jackson County North Carolina including Cashiers, Cullowhee, Glenville, Tuckasegee, Dillsboro, Sylva, and Webster.
At our Food Pantry’s Empty Bowls in Jackson County event, guests can keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world after making a cash donation. The money raised is donated to an organization working to alleviate hunger and food insecurity.
What to Bring to Our Food Pantry Empty Bowls Event in Jackson County:
In exchange for keeping the hand-crafted bowl, we ask community members who attend the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry Empty Bowls in Jackson County event to donate $25 or one grocery bag of:
- Non-perishable food items within the expiration date
- Personal hygiene items within the expiration date
- Farmers are welcome to donate fresh produce
